Diversité artistique Montréal (DAM)
Posted by admin

Since its creation in 2006, DAM has taken on the mission to promote cultural diversity in the arts by encouraging the recognition and inclusion of all artists in professional networks, cultural institutions and distribution channels in Montreal. DAM supports Montreal artists from all backgrounds and disciplines, including individual meetings, training and a mentoring program. Several structuring projects, combined with partnerships with the arts community, create opportunities for racialized and immigrant artists who face systemic barriers to their full professional integration.

Services: DAM offers accompaniments to artists, professional artistic mentoring, training, publications like TicArtToc magazine (on diversity in arts and culture), networking meetings, Cellule Idam (DAM offers a service of support for cultural organizations in their transition to a better consideration of the “ethnocultural diversity” factor within their organization) and diversity audition (for immigrant actors, born in Canada who see themselves as Visible minority or member of aboriginal communities, the opportunity to make a video demo, to be coached and to present their talent during the General Auditions of Théâtre de Quat’Sous.) (Rates: Between $20 and $90 depending on selected services).
